Hot Stone  - Stones are used as tools to deliver effective tissue and muscle therapy.  The heat from the stones relaxes muscles, increase the blood flow to the area being worked on which further accelerates the healing process. Cupping

Cupping has been practised for thousands of years for the treatment of disease and pain.  It is a form of acupuncture that focuses on the movement of blood, and body fluids, such as lymph - which circulates around the body's tissues.

Oriental medicine states pain is due to stagnation of these systems. This stagnation can be a result of injury or stress.

Here are The Encinitas Spa we practice modified Slide Cupping & Stationary Cupping modalities for the modern person.  The service is very relaxing, therapeutic, and leaves you completely at ease.  We start with Slide Cupping techniques, and when an area of tension is found normally an elbow or thumb is held in position by the therapist, but in Cupping the cup remains there while the practitioner moves to another area with additional cups.   This is like having two or three therapists working on you!  The cups we use are a soft silicon plastic, warmed before your service, and range from 2 inch to 4 inch in diameter; which is great for targeting specific muscles or a general area.
